(More customer reviews)This fan is great because you can have it oscillating vertically or horizontally. I have this fan laying over an air conditioning/heating vent in my condo. I have a studio. The vent is under the window and I lay this fan over the vent in order to push either the heat or cold air across my studio. It's like having central heating and air conditioning.

I'm not sure how well the ionizer works since I don't use it. Personally I wonder if those things really do any good. I've had mine for nearly 3 years so far with no problems. I may get another one and put it somewhere else in my studio.

Too bad it doesn't come in black but the brushed stainless steel is very attractive too.

(More customer reviews)This product is very attractive but much larger and challenging than I expected.I had hoped it wouldn't be too much larger than a roll of dental floss but it takes up most of the palm of my hand.Putting in the "teeth" floss cutter was very simple to do, but getting the included small roll of floss to sit still and not unravel while putting the top on was quite a task.Perhaps including a different type of floss (waxed or fabric rather than slick ribbon) would have helped.Also, the roll of floss just sits loosely on a spool inside, rather than having some method of staying put.Once I finally put the product together and pulled out the floss, the top half popped off right away.I thought maybe I hadn't "clicked" the top and bottom parts together properly but this happened repeatedly.In addition, the "teeth" were not too sharp and I had to pull down rather forcefully, which in turn made the top pop off again and again.I purchased this product for myself and am glad I am the one who had this frustrating experience rather than someone who I may have given it as a gift.I am not using it.

Holmes HM-5125 Warm Mist Humidifier Review

(More customer reviews)this was our second winter with this unit and i will say for the job its supposed to do it does it ok.its quiet and humidifies ok.in its defense, we do have very hard water and previous humidifiers have been much worse off with mineral buildup than this one (like the vicks ones with the tub of water and then the electrical part that snaps into the top, i like this holmes design much better).

however the plastics on this unit are very cheap.the handle on the water tank is so thin it snapped, so be careful with that.worse, the bottom of the water tank has a cap that screws on and off to fill it.the threads on the tank that the cap screws onto chipped away every time i would put it under the sink to fill it and it bumped into the faucet.luckily, it has not chipped totally away and there is still enough threading left to get the cap on.obviously holmes is doing whatever is needed to keep the price down for better or worse.

other than that, just remember this is a small capacity unit.on low it will run about 18 hours and on high it will run only about 6 (not enough to get through a night and with sick kids you really need it to).
